394 New Cases and 17 Deaths in Iowa, 12 More Cases and Additional Death in Dubuque County

As of 3:30 p.m. today, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) was notified of 394 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, including 12 additional cases in Dubuque County.

  • Iowa now has a total of 15,349 positive cases and Dubuque County has 288.
  • 17 additional deaths were reported for Iowa, bringing the state total to 372. One additional death was reported for Dubuque County, bringing the county total to 11.
  • As of May 18, 17 Dubuque County residents were hospitalized due to COVID-19 and 134 have recovered or are recovering. Statewide, 7,324 Iowans have recovered.
  • 3,849 Dubuque County residents have been tested, resulting in a 7.5 percent positive rate. Statewide, 107,648 Iowans have been tested for a 14.3 percent positive rate.
  • Dubuque County has 297 positive cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 population. When compared to Iowa’s 99 other counties, Dubuque County has 22nd highest positive cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 population but has the eighth highest population (96,802). (Five counties are over 2,000 cases per 100,000 population.)
