Three New Cases in Dubuque County, 425 New Cases and Seven More Deaths in Iowa

Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported three new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 384. For the state, 425 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 23,686 positive cases.

Deaths
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 21. Seven additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 650.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 6,667 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 63 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.8 percent. 219,965 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 6,667 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 10.8 percent. One in 15 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 14 Iowa residents.

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 36 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, one more than yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 51 positive cases and 14 recovered cases (no change since yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,316 positive cases at long-term care facilities (16 fewer than reported yesterday), 777 recovered (22 fewer than reported yesterday), and 341 deaths (five more than reported yesterday)The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 200 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, 25 fewer than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized is three, the same as yesterday. Statewide, 14,320 Iowans have recovered (up 153 from yesterday), including 217 Dubuque County residents (no change from yesterday).
