Five New Cases in Dubuque County, 232 New Cases and 13 More Deaths in Iowa
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported five new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 372. For the state, 232 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 22,224 positive cases.
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 21. Thirteen additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 623.
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 6,327 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 111 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.9 percent. 198,111 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 4,099 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 11.2 percent. One in 15 Dubuque County residents have been tested and one in 16 Iowa residents.
Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 39 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, the same as yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 49 positive cases and 14 recovered cases (no change from yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,561 positive cases at long-term care facilities (one less than reported yesterday), 862 recovered (62 more than reported yesterday), and 309 deaths (three more than reported yesterday). The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.
Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 255 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, 10 fewer than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized remains at five. Statewide, 13,354 Iowans have recovered (up 372 from yesterday), including 213 Dubuque County residents (four more than yesterday).
