Five New Cases in Dubuque County, 357 New Cases and Six More Deaths in Iowa
Positive Cases
Between 2 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported five new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, increasing the county total to 367. For the state, 357 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 21,992 positive cases.
Deaths
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County so the county total remains at 21. Six additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 610.
Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 6,216 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 154 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of 5.9 percent. 194,012 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 6,096 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 11.3 percent. One in 16 Dubuque County residents have been tested as have one in 16 Iowa residents.
Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 39 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, one less than reported yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 49 positive cases and 14 recovered cases (no change from yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,562 positive cases at long-term care facilities (six more than reported yesterday), 800 recovered (eight more than reported yesterday), and 306 deaths (two more than reported yesterday). The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.
Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 265 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, four fewer than yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized remains at five. Statewide, 12,982 Iowans have recovered (up 207 from yesterday), including 209 Dubuque County residents (one more than yesterday).
