Four New Cases in Dubuque County, 644 New Cases and Six More Deaths in Iowa


Positive Cases
Between 4:45 p.m. yesterday and 2 p.m. today, the IDPH reported four new positive cases of COVID-19 in Dubuque County, keeping the total to 354. For the state, 644 additional cases were reported in that same time frame giving Iowa a total of 20,790 positive cases.

Deaths
No additional deaths were reported in Dubuque County since yesterday so the county total remains at 21. Six additional deaths were reported statewide increasing the state death total at 580.

Testing
As of 2 p.m. today, the IDPH website reported that 5,890 Dubuque County residents have been tested, up 173 from yesterday, with a positive test rate of six percent. 175,323 Iowans have been tested, an increase of 8,652 since yesterday, for a positive test rate of 11.9 percent. One in 16 Dubuque County residents have been tested while one in 18 Iowa residents have been tested.

Long-Term Care Facility Outbreaks
According to the IDPH, as of 2 p.m. today there are 40 long-term care facilities in Iowa with COVID-19 outbreaks, two less than yesterday. There is one long-term care facility outbreak in Dubuque County at Dubuque Specialty Care, which has 49 positive cases and 14 recovered cases (no change from yesterday). Statewide, IDPH is reporting 1,527 positive cases at long-term care facilities (74 fewer than reported yesterday), 755 recovered (43 fewer than reported yesterday), and 290 deaths (four more than reported yesterday)The number of cases and recovered include both residents and staff.

Hospitalizations & Recoveries
As of today, 310 Iowans were hospitalized due to COVID-19, a decrease of four from yesterday. The number of Dubuque County residents hospitalized remains at five. Statewide, 12,284 Iowans have recovered (up 178 from yesterday), including 195 Dubuque County residents (no change from yesterday).
